The problem: early signs of collagen depletion and skin de-hydration maybe through sun damage as a result of repeated sun beds or excessive tanning. It’s not just about eradicating the lines and folds – you also need to address tone and texture to bring back the radiance. Over the years, this radiance dissipates as our bodies’ natural levels of hyaluronic acid diminish due to age, smoking, sun exposure and environmental factors.
The treatment: If you are considering a skin treatment to reverse this then Juvéderm HYDRATE represents a subtle enhancement rather than a radical change. Based on the same hyaluronic acid that forms the basis of the other Juvéderm products, HYDRATE also features mannitol, an antioxidising agent that helps prevent the build-up of free radicals within the skin that degrade hyaluronic acid, which in turn prolongs the effects of Juvéderm HYDRATE.
Dermal filler – Juvéderm® HYDRATE
The HYDRATE difference Dermal fillers are used to treat folds and winkles and can be also used to create volume in the mid-face. They are injected into a deeper level of the skin, whereas HYDRATE is placed more superficially.
Using a syringe with a shorter needle, we dot small amounts of hyaluronic acid in the superficial level to produce a plumping effect. We use it for areas of the skin that are either specifically dehydrated, such as around the mouth, or for uneven areas of the skin maybe as a result of acne scarring.
Where there are lots of fine lines or uneven skin you don’t want to use a dermal filler as it can look very obviously filled. Instead you want the smoothing effect of HYDRATE.
Juvéderm HYDRATE can be combined with other treatments for lines and wrinkles by layering over the top for the best aesthetic outcome. The face and décolletage can be treated to smooth and improve the appearance of these lines.
The results: Smooth, plumped up skin with restored radiance. Your skin will look refreshed and hydrated.

Some of your questions answered
What does the treatment involve?
Small amounts of dermal filler are injected directly into the skin using an ultrafine needle. The gel helps to plump up the skin, thereby smoothing out lines and wrinkles. If the lips or facial contours are being treated, the filler adds volume, restores shape and gives a fuller appearance. Our policy is ‘less is more’ so we will always aim to give you a natural, subtle look.
Does the injection hurt?
Most people find the injections relatively painless. Most dermal fillers nowadays include an added anaesthetic, which makes it a painless treatment.
How long does treatment take?
The treatment generally takes 30 minutes, depending on the area treated. As our dermal fillers do not require an allergy test and can be administered immediately, there is no waiting for treatments.
How soon will I see results?
Dermal fillers work instantly so you’ll see the results straight away.
How long will the results last?
The improvement you will achieve from the procedure will last anywhere between 9 and 13 months. You will notice a gradual fading of its effect, at which point you may return for a new treatment.
Are there any side effects?
There will be some redness, tenderness and swelling around the treated area immediately after the injection. You might also feel an itching sensation. All side effects should subside after a couple of hours.
