Calecim Hair Loss Treatment
Calecim is an advanced hair loss treatment that uses powerful growth factors to help promote hair growth for fuller looking hair.
The Calecium professional advanced hair serum contains a combination of key proteins and growth factors that will help weak and struggling hair follicles. The treatment involves the serum being infused into the scalp with a microneedling device such as Dermaroller or Dermastamp.
This treatment is suitable for anyone experiencing hair loss of many types including telogen effluvium, post-partum hair loss and traction alopecia. It is also a great treatment for those who have had a hair transplant to help encourage growth and preserve their results.

Consultation
An in-clinic consultation will be carried out by one of our hair loss experts.
They will discuss your medical history before analysing your hair to see if you are suitable for Calecim Professional Hair Growth System.
If the cause of your hair loss is unclear, you may need to have a blood test
Treatment
When you arrive for your Calecim hair loss treatment, you should have clean hair with no product applied.
- Firstly, the scalp will be cleansed with Chlorhexidine 0.5% or Clinisept prep & procedure solution.
- Microneedling will be performed on the scalp with a 0.5mm – 1.5mm range depending on the areas being treated. 0.5 – 0.6mm is typically used for the hairline and temples whilst 1.0 – 1.5mm can be applied to the vertex and crown.
- 2.5ml of Calecim Professional Advanced Hair System is applied to the scalp and massaged in.
The treatment takes around 20 minutes to perform.
It is recommended that patients undertake a course of treatments that are performed once a week for 6 weeks. In more severe hair loss cases, a course of 12 treatments may be recommended.
A maintenance treatment is also recommended once every 3-6 months.
Calecim can be combined with other treatments such as non-surgical hair loss treatment and hair loss medication.
Aftercare & Results for Calecim Hair Loss Treatment
Following your in-clinic Calecim hair loss treatment. It is advised that you avoid washing your hair for 24-48 hours.
If any of the serum was left over following treatment, this will be provided to you which you can apply to the scalp the following day with clean hands.
The results from Calecim treatment can start to be seen from 5 to 6 weeks when new vellus hairs may be visible.

In lab (in vitro) testing results of cord lining conditioned media on hair follicle cells saw a 24% increase in the growth of hair follicles and 30x reduction in inflammatory signals that cause follicle cell death.

The best results from Calecim Professional Hair Growth System are seen when both the serum and microneedling treatments are used together. Microneedling allows the serum to reach the hair follicles and by only applying it topically, the best results are unlikely to be achieved.
A benefit to this treatment is that many patients are seeing visible results within 6 weeks.
Usually, it can take 3-5 months for a hair focussed treatment to see results. This is due to the standard growing phases of the hair follicles.
Maintenance sessions are likely to be required to ensure long lasting results.
Calecim Professional Advanced Hair System treatment can be successfully combined with other treatments such as Non-Surgical Hair Loss treatment to help boost the results from both treatments.
The treatment can also be beneficial to those who have had a hair transplant procedure. The serum can be applied to the donor site immediately following the procedure to help maintain hair follicle quality. It can also carefully be applied to the recipient area. If looking to combine these treatments it would be best to discuss with your hair transplant surgeon within consultation.
Calecim Professional Hair Growth System does not require any downtime. You will be free to return to all your usual activities. The only restriction is that the hair is not to be washed for at least 24 hours, but ideally 48 hours following treatment.
The majority of all patients are suitable for Calecim hair loss treatment.
The treatment should not be carried out on anyone who is actively experiencing irritation on the scalp including pustules, crusting, rough, scaly skin or scarring.
There are also some conditions that may affect hair growth and affect results from treatment which include:
- Pregnancy
- Thyroid Problems
- Vitamin Deficiency
- Lupus or discoid lupus
- History of breast, ovarian, cervical or uterine cancer
- Rheumatic conditions or autoimmune disease

The active ingredient used in Calecim Professional Hair Growth System is Cord Lining Conditioned Media (Stem cell derived Fibronectins, Glycoproteins, Albumin, Collagens, Hyaluronic Acid).
This is naturally derived from Cord Lining Stem Cells. There is a mix of growth factors, cytokines and proteins that are naturally secreted by these growth factors. The stem cells are ethically sourced with no harm or pain caused to any humans or animals.
