Vaser Liposuction

Dr Reddy discuss beard transplants on Talk Radio

May 26, 2016 by

Dr Raghu Reddy features on Talk Radio on 26 May discussing beard implants.  To listen please click here, selecting 20:30 – 21:00

talk radio beard transplants

Dr Reddy commented:

“There has been quite a lot of interest in beard transplants, and we’ve done quite a lot of procedures recently.  The primary market is men from the Middle East, who I believe like wearing the traditional costumes and the beard is part of that”

He continued:

“It’s not dissimilar to modern hair transplants, we try and choose the hair that is consistent with the beard from the back of the scalp.  We take the hairs individually and no longer do the strip procedure.

Many clients that come to us are men in their late twenties and early thirties, middle level managers, that don’t believe they have the look to become senior level managers.  We turn away 90% of clients because they are not right for the procedure.

A resonable area for a beard transplant will cost around £5000.  Feedback from my clients is that they often get a spring in their step, I personally support hair loss as I have had work done myself”.

Vaser Liposuction Gynecomastia – Alex

May 2, 2018 by

Alex Clair is a patient co-ordinator at The Private Clinic in Manchester.

Back in 2017, Alex weighed 19 stone and was feeling un-confident and unhappy with his appearance.  Over the next 7 months Alex lost 4 stone and completely changed his body shape through eating healthier foods and exercising more. But despite this huge achievement, he was still feeling unhappy with his appearance, this time because of another reason.

Gynecomastia is a common condition that can affect 15% of adult men in the UK. After losing weight, Alex found his chest not reducing in size which led him to believe he was suffering with gynecomastia or ‘man boobs’ and started to look for a way to help him reduce the size of his chest.

“After having a stern word with myself I managed to change my eating habits and join a Strength and Conditioning Gym (Bury Strength and Conditioning). Over 7 Months I lost 4 stone and completely changed my body shape. But, still I was left with ‘Moobs’ every man’s nightmare! This is when I looked further into VASER Liposuction.”

Vaser Liposuction is often the preferred choice for men looking to reduce the size of their chest. The recovery time is minimal compared to other surgical procedures and the procedure is performed as a day-case meaning you are able to go home and recover afterwards in the luxury of your own home and surroundings.

Having been working at The Private Clinic for a short while, Alex had seen plenty of happy patients having Vaser Liposuction week after week which helped Alex to decide that this was the procedure for him.

Alex booked in for a consultation with Dr Jacobus Adriaan Vlok. During the consultation Dr Vlok informed Alex of what the procedure involved on a step-by-step basis. He checked the areas that Alex wanted treated to make sure he wouldn’t be creating loose skin which is better treated by a surgical option. Dr Vlok also went through the risks and side effects of the procedure making Alex feel reassured that he was in safe hands and fully aware of everything that could happen.

“I felt so at ease with Dr Vlok and I wouldn’t have gone with any other surgeon. I opted for VASER Liposuction as the idea of a GA (General Anaesthetic) or Sedation worries me as I am a natural worrier and I like to be in control. Having this procedure under LA (Local Anaesthetic) and the less downtime was very appealing to someone like me.”

In the months leading up to his procedure Alex continued to work hard on ensuring his body was the best it could be and although he felt very nervous he was ready to get rid of the area of his body that he had felt self-conscious of for so long and finally start to appreciate the body that he had worked so hard for and put the effort in to achieve.

“This was a part of my body I had hated for so long! I just wanted it gone and over and done with.”

On the day of the procedure Alex met with Dr Vlok to go over any last questions and queries before being taken down to the theatre to be marked up by Dr Vlok before starting the procedure. Vaser Liposuction was performed to Alex’s chest and underarm area.

Later on in the day, Alex arrived back home following his procedure.

“I was feeling quite sleepy, tired and slightly painful. The 3 nights after were a struggle to sleep as I normally sleep on my front but this had to change for my back. I got a V shaped pillow which made this easier to sleep and the pain relief tablets I was provided really helped. Id personally says it was more discomfort than physical pain.”

Overall Alex found the recovery process smooth once he had gotten used to his new sleeping position and wearing the compression garment.

“After Vaser Liposuction you are given a compression garment to wear; I won’t lie, it was slightly uncomfortable for the first few days until my stitches came out and id gotten used to it but then after the first week I never wanted to take it off. I even considered wearing it longer than needed if I went on a night out to give me more shape!”

Alex had originally lost 4 stone over 7 months by living a healthier and more active lifestyle. Once recovered from the Vaser procedure Alex was pleased to find out that overall he had dropped a dress size from a XXXL TOP to an M/L and from a trousers size of 40 to a 32 and was ecstatic with his results and relieved that he finally felt like himself again.

We asked Alex how this procedure has changed him;

“This procedure has changed me for life! I can finally feel confident to take my top off on holiday and can comfortably wear t-shirts without having to hide in black baggy tops! It’s completely changed my look; it’s made me love me more.”

“I could not recommend this procedure enough to anyone and everyone. I show everyone my before and after pictures and explain the full procedure. This affects men all shapes and sizes.  I’ve seen slim men, buff men and plus size men with these issues it’s not something to hide away from – something can be done! Be the best you and do it! – It’s 1hour and 15 mins of my life that I will never forget as it’s changed my life.”

Drake Dragged by Fellow Rapper for Maybe Having Liposuction

July 22, 2016 by

Yahoo

When we think of cosmetic surgery, we usually picture things like breast enlargements and lip injections. We rarely imagine men going under the knife or the needle. But that’s what rapper Drake is being accused of in a new track by fellow rapper Joe Budden, who claims Drizzy had liposuction to define his six-pack abs, according to Uproxx.

[…]

An article in the Telegraph says that the number of plastic surgery procedures performed on men increased by 16 percent in 2013, and liposuction was the fastest-growing procedure. The article said the U.K.’s Private Clinic of Harley Street reported a whopping 150 percent increase in men’s requests for VASER lipo, a minimally invasive procedure that uses ultrasound technology to target fat cells for removal.

“The most popular cosmetic procedures sought by men today are minimally invasive body contouring procedures, such as Vaser Lipo,” confirms Dr. Dennis Wolf, cosmetic doctor at The Private Clinic of Harley Street. “I think today men have a more open attitude towards cosmetic treatments and I also think they are more aware of the treatments that are available to them. If we look back 5-10 years, you would find a far lower number of men who would be prepared to have cosmetic treatments to improve the way they look; not because they did not want to undergo the procedure, but perhaps because they were embarrassed or did not want others to see them as vain. Now, however, perceptions have changed and people don’t associate cosmetic treatments solely with women.”

Dr. Wolf adds that just five years ago, the majority of male VASER procedures he carried out were on men in their late 30s or early 40s, but now it is common for him to treat men even in their late 50s and early 60s.

Of course, it’s impossible to know whether or not Drake had such a procedure done, especially since his camp hasn’t spoken out against the verbal assault. But even if he did, it’s not a reason to take jabs at the rapper — or anyone who chooses cosmetic surgery.

PROBLEM AREAS: YOUR BODY FAT EXPLAINED

July 1, 2016 by

Harper’s Bazaar online

Whether it’s your thighs or the tops of your arms, most of us have one area of our body that we wish was firmer and more toned. Unfortunately, the fat in some areas refuses to go, no matter how many spin classes or push-ups you do. “Men and women are programmed to store fat in different ways. This is a legacy of our hunter-gatherer days when women were responsible for looking after and feeding the children,’ says the cosmetic doctor Dr Dennis Wolf from The Private Clinic of Harley Street. “Even though the way we live has changed dramatically, the way our bodies function hasn’t yet evolved. This means that women are still prone to storing fat in particular areas, including the hips, bottom and legs.”

With bikini season in full swing, Bazaar spoke to a number of experts, including Dr Wolf and Chris Walton, the head of personal training at Embody Fitness, to discover the best approach to tackling body fat…

1. UPPER ARMS

“Bingo wings develop as women age due to loss of skin elasticity and accumulation of fatty material, which creates that ‘saggy’ appearance,” says Dr Wolf. “A lack of exercise can also exacerbate the problem.”

The treatment: Vaser liposuction, a minimally invasive procedure performed under local anaesthetic, can remove small pockets of fat and shape the upper arm area for a more defined finish.

….

2. BOTTOM AND THIGHS

….

The treatment: “A gentle fat-removal procedure can combat the ‘banana roll’, which is the term for the pocket of fat in the fold just beneath your bottom,” says Dr Wolf. However, he cautions against removing too much, as this can cause your bottom to sag.

The exercise: “Exercise won’t necessarily lead to fat loss in the desired area, but deep squats, hip bridges and lunges will develop a good muscle structure and will tone thighs and give your bottom a lift – without surgical help,” says Walton. Taking a regular spin class and keeping your resistance high, will help tone your thighs and lift your bottom, too.

3. HIPS AND STOMACH

Sugar and hormones are the most common causes of fat accumulating around your tummy and hips. “A thick middle is often a sign that your body isn’t handling insulin very well, which often results in fatty deposits around the waist,” says Dr Wolf.

….

4. DOUBLE CHIN

This effects both men and women and is as much related to genetics as it is to age. “With age, your skin loosens and you lose muscle tone, which causes this area to droop or to appear ‘wobbly’,” says Dr Wolf.

The treatment: “A skin-tightening treatment or a non-surgical face lift is optional, but I advise patients to approach the latter as a last resort,” says Dr Wolf.

The exercise: It’s tricky to target this area specifically, however Face Gym in Selfridges offers a non-invasive facial workout treatment to target your chin.

Could your workout be making you BALD?

June 20, 2016 by

Express

THINNING on top has been linked to low self-esteem, anxiety and in more extreme cases even isolation and depression.

From products to procedures, men are willing to go to extreme lengths to maintain their locks.

A recent study found over half of British men would rather have a full head of hair than a promotion or supermodel wife.

Health experts have linked diet to hair health, as being deficient in certain nutrients can cause hair to thin.

And it seems what you do at the gym can also accelerate thinning on top.

According to Dr Hair Transplant Surgeon at The Private Clinic of Harley Street, there has been a surge in men experiencing accelerated hair loss due to the use of powdered protein and the activity they participate in at the gym.

Reportedly, certain ingredients in protein shakes increase testosterone and a chemical called DHT, which has been linked to hair loss.

Dr said: “Protein shakes will very often contain growth hormones such as Creatine and DHEA, which not only increase muscle mass, but also increase testosterone levels in the bloodstream.

“Testosterone produces a chemical known as DHT, which actually contributes to baldness when the hair follicles become exposed to too much. Sadly, this is something that most men are unaware of, until they notice that their hair loss has already become more apparent.”

Dr said 70 per cent of male patients who come into her clinic are avid users of protein shakes.

However the expert explained protein shakes are not the root of hair loss.

She said: “It is important to distinguish between cause and effect here. Protein shakes do not cause hair loss.

“They do, however, accelerate hair loss for those men who suffer with androgenetic hair loss or alternatively, those who are predisposed to balding, as many men are.”

And as for the choice of exercise? Lifting the heaviest weights may not always be best, according to the expert.

“Interestingly, the activity that men do in the gym can also potentially impact hair loss. While cardio will reduce the levels of DHT in the blood stream, excess weight lifting can increase testosterone levels and therefore accelerate hair loss.

“I would therefore also advise those men who focus on lifting weights in the gym, to be mindful of just how much lifting they do and, where possible, to do more aerobic exercises.”

While the effects of protein on hair follicles cannot be reversed, the acceleration will be slowed down.

Dr said: “I would advise men who are pre-disposed to balding to stop using protein shakes that contain growth factors and hormones. Instead, they should try and incorporate natural sources of protein into their diet such as chicken, fish and eggs.

“Men should also ensure they are eating a healthy and balanced diet, which contains essential vitamins and minerals.”

Cosmetic Surgery and Me

September 26, 2016 by

ManFace.co.uk

2 weeks ago, I was approached by the The Private Clinic, a cosmetic surgery and aesthetic treatment clinic that can be found up and down the UK with it’s original location in Harley Street. They’d asked me if I, or someone I knew, had any interest in cosmetic treatments as they were looking for someone to undergo consultation, treatment and aftercare and then talk about their experience….

…..The second stage was to be invited to an event at The Private Clinic last Thursday where I could find out more about the group, their treatments and have a one-on-one appointment with surgeon, Mr Vasu Karri….

….The evening went by wonderfully as I then I had my appointment with Mr Karri – a meeting that would change the way I would think about myself forever to come and embarrassingly, burst into tears.

I was sat down with Mr Karri and Sorena Ali, the patient co-ordinator where I coyly explained what it was that bothered me. Firstly, I was met with deep understanding and sympathy but as many have done before, I was told it wasn’t that much of a problem, but they understood how much of a problem it was to me.

After some poking, squeezing, smoothing and prodding, Mr Karri returned to his seat to give me his diagnosis and recommendation.

I’d initially sought Microlipo or Vaser Laser Lipo, to remove all the fat and smooth out my neck.

Mr Karri told me that any form of treatment, from lipo to a facelift would almost certainly not give me any result. In fact any of those treatments would likely leave me with a weird fold of skin instead….

….With The Private Clinic, their surgeon consultations cost a max of around £150 and most are redeemable against treatment if they decide you need it. If I’d have known, I’d have paid that like a shot many years ago. The whole experience was totally geared around not giving me surgery that not only I don’t need, but that would show no results and damage the reputation of the business.
