Cosmetic Surgery London

Fitzroy Square Hospital

July 13, 2017 by Rebecca Giffen Leave a Comment

Fitzroy Square Hospital is our purpose built day case facility for all our day case procedures. Situated on Fitzroy Square in central London makes it a quiet and peaceful location for our patients to visit. It is easily located from Warren Street or Great Portland Street tube stations. If you are travelling by car Fitzroy Square is located just off Euston Road (the A501) which runs circular around central London and there is a car park located near the square.

Our Fitzroy Square Hospital opened in November 2016 and boasts a state of the art and modern environment with all the latest technology. There are 2 consultation rooms and 2 theatres along with recovery units for the patients to recover post-surgery before they are allowed to safely leave the facility.

All the operations and procedures performed here are day case procedures which means the patient does not need to stay overnight and can return home the same day as their surgery to recover.

Procedures include;

Vaser Liposuction

Vaser Liposuction is performed under local anaesthetic and generally takes between 1-2 hours depending on the number and size of the areas being treated.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentations are performed under general anaesthetic with the procedure taking on average an hour and a half. Some surgeons may offer you the choice of having your procedure under local anaesthetic, more so when the implant is being placed above the muscle but this would need to be discussed with your surgeon.

Other breast procedures that can be performed here include removal of implants and replacement of implants.

Minor Surgical Procedures

Inverted nipple correction is a minor procedure that can be performed under a local anaesthetic with the procedure taking approximately 30 minutes for both sides to be treated. Other minor operations such as Earlobe correction, cyst removal and mole removal can also be performed here.

The Private Clinic
With over 34 years’ experience we are able to offer our patients the most advanced and effective cosmetic treatments to help you achieve your desired results. We have clinics nationwide where we are able to offer the broadest range of treatments that our growing team of Doctors and Surgeons specialise in.

FUE Eyebrow Transplant Procedure Through Photos

April 11, 2014 by dina.elbarbary Leave a Comment

Yesterday our very own Marie underwent an FUE Eyebrow Transplant. The procedure as a whole lasted approximately four to five hours and Marie was able to continue with her day once the treatment was completed.

The FUE procedure for Marie was carried out by Dr Tetiana Mamontova. Dr Mamontova is a well respected specialist in the performance of advanced aesthetic procedures. Since moving to the UK in 2012 her fellow specialists have praised her high attention to detail, skill and artistic vision where she is able to provide the best and most natural results to her patients. She has undergone extensive training under the expertise of Dr Raghu Reddy.

We were lucky enough to be there and take photographs of the meticulous procedure.eyebrow-fue-hair-transplant-before

eyebrow-outline-before-hair-transplant

Before commencing the procedure Dr Mamontova designes and draws Marie’s desired brow shape to use as a map for the transplantation.

live-eyebrow-transplant

Once Marie is comfortable Dr Mamontova begins to find a fine stretch of hair at the base of the head to use as the Donor Area. Normally for eyebrow transplants the donor hair will be taken from behind the ears – as this is the finest area of hair. However as Marie naturally has fine hair Dr Mamontova chooses a small stretch at the base of her head.

Dr Mamontova ensures that the donor area is inconspicuous so as not to be noticeable post treatment. The small stretch of hair is then trimmed back with scissors ready to start removing the healthy hair follicles.

live-eyebrow-fue-hair-transplant

Local anaesthetic is then injected into the Donor area. A vibration device and ice are used to make this process more comfortable for Marie. As soon as Marie is certain she can no longer feel anything within the donor area – Dr Mamontova proceeds to begin the extraction.

hair-transplant-punches

These two punches are 0.3mm thick. The bronze ended punch on the left hand side is sharp. This is used to make the first incision into the healthy singular follicle needed for Marie’s eyebrows. The second punch on the right is blunt and is used to ‘punch’ or to widen the area around the hair follicle in order to remove the whole healthy follicle.

It’s important for Dr Mamontova to first determine the angulation of Marie’s Hair. Unlike Asian or Caucasian hair follicles Afro-Carribbean hair follicles have unique features in which a lot are curly. When making the incision with the punches Dr Mamontova needs to take into consideration the way in which the hair follicle curles in order to excise it as whole.

Through this video footage we can see the exact precision that needed shown by Dr Mamontova as she selects the healthiest and most suitable hair follicles for the transplantation.

hair-follicles-hair-transplantation

As we can see once the two punches have been used – the first to localise the healthy follicle and the second the cut around it for easy excision – and the whole hair follicle has been removed, along with surrounding fat tissue.

From the video footage we saw that the healthy follicle actually contain the growth of two hairs – our experienced technicians will then proceed to divide these ready for the implant into her eyebrow area.

This entire process is repeated until enough hair is taken to give the desired results Marie is after.

The next stage of the procedure is to get Marie ready for the actual transplant treatment. As we saw earlier: a design of the particular shape Marie desires is drawn around the eyebrow area. This is injected with local anaesthetic. Dr Mamontova then proceeds to inject the new follicles into the area one by one. As mentioned earlier because some of the hair follicles curl Dr Mamontova is very precise and take special care when she inserting each hair follicle to ensure the curl is in the right direction of the rest of her eyebrow.

Straight after the treatment we can see Marie’s eyebrows are perfectly shaped and complete! There is little redness and Marie is still very comfortable – albeit a little tired.

Just an hour after her treatment the redness has subsided and Marie is ready to continue with her day – very pleased with her results!

Tough and Rugged: FUE Beard Transplants

April 4, 2014 by dina.elbarbary Leave a Comment

Among all the features that represent masculinity, facial hair is one that is often thought as the most obvious trait that a man can possess – so it’s certainly no surprise that FUE Hair Transplants are popular for men that desire a thicker and more dense beard.

New York has seen a boom in facial hair transplants recently as young men seek to reflect the facial fashion of the stars. Ryan Gosling, David Beckham, Ben Affleck and Hugh Jackman are just some of the celebrities who are trending not just for their acting but their facial hair too.

And this boom in facial hair transplants hasn’t remained in the Big Apple either. Our very own doctors at The Private Clinic have noticed an increase in demand as well. The UK in the past year has performed over 4,500 beard transplants as men hope to ‘feel more masculine’. A study noted by the Daily Mail has found that as many as 59% of men think that having a beard makes them feel ‘more macho’ while 45% of men complain of odd patches through their sideburns and beards.

It appears that sporting a good haircut doesn’t stop at the top of our heads. Men are seeking rugged designer stubble, bushy moustaches, big sideburns and full beards in order to finish off their stylish look.

Our very own Dr Raghu Reddy – a top UK specialist in hair transplants – has been helping men achieve a fuller beard for the past eight years. Dr Reddy has noticed more young men coming to him for help. Reflecting upon the patients he has treated he recently stated in the Evening Standard: “Men take pride in having a nicely trimmed beard, so I see a lot of men with patchy beards who want in-filling. They associate having a good beard with masculinity.”

So what exactly does it take for one to have a bodacious beard? In this post, we’ll take a look at how an FUE hair transplant can transform a patchy, stubbly beard into an enviably thicker one.

beard transplants - FUE

What does FUE mean?

FUE simply stands for Follicle Unit Extraction, and is a minimally invasive method for restoring and enhancing hair density on different areas of the face and body, in this case, the beard. During the procedure, the donor and treatment areas are numbed with local anaesthetic, the donor follicles are removed with an ultra-fine punch (less than 1mm in diameter) and carefully implanted onto the patchy, thinning areas that lack density on the beard. This method has gained popularity in recent years due to its results and permanency.

What makes an FUE hair transplant different from other methods?

Many other hair restoration methods (like the FUT Strip method) are surgical, involve scalpels, general anaesthetic and tend to leave unsightly scars making them difficult to disguise. The FUE method uses only the healthiest donor hair follicles, and the procedure is virtually painless. The FUE method can safely extract up to 7000 hairs in one session and during this phase, none of the follicular units are destroyed – another attribute that makes this method truly unique.

True to its minimally invasive nature, there is no stitching, scarring or downtime required, and the results are noticeable immediately.

The Private Clinic

We are a leading UK non-invasive cosmetic group, and have provided outstanding quality treatments to our patients for over 30 years.

FUE Hair Transplant Pricing

April 2, 2014 by dina.elbarbary Leave a Comment

We understand that the price of any cosmetic or aesthetic treatment plays a substantial role in the consideration process for anyone wanting a hair transplant.

While you should always pay attention to the pricing structures offered to you for a hair transplant, you need to always keep that factor secondary to the quality of care and the results offered by a clinic or surgeon. This extends to their reputation, credentials and experience of both.

We are asked daily about pricing information regarding our various procedures and while we’re more than happy to give you an average price a patient pays, more accurate quotes can only be offered by the surgeon during a consultation after assessing your case and needs.

How much does a FUE Hair Transplant cost?

FUE Hair Transplant procedures at The Private Clinic cost on average; £2.50 per transplanted hair. For patients with a reasonable amount of hair loss, the procedure could cost on average £6,000-8,000. For more extensive procedures, the costs can increase considerably. If you would like an Unshaven (U-FUE) hair transplant, the cost increases further. Many procedures end up costing between £6,000-9,000. More extensive hair restoration procedures may be split into two procedures with a significant gap in between them.

The overall cost of a hair transplant procedure will be calculated by the time taken, amount of hairs transplanted and the difficulty of the procedure. Prices will also often reflect the quality of the procedure and the experience your surgeon may have and often what may appear to be a great deal may not end up being one if you are left with bad results and significant scarring. Here at The Private Clinic we unfortunately often see a lot of patients who require hair transplants to repair poor hair transplant results.

Expert Hair Transplant Surgeons at The Private Clinic

Once one of our hair transplant doctors, Dhave deemed you suitable for an FUE Hair Transplant you will then be informed as to how many grafts or hairs you’ll require to have transplanted. This will be based on the results that you are after and it is then that an accurate price for your procedure will be given.

Thinking of removing your breast implants?

February 28, 2014 by dina.elbarbary Leave a Comment

Breast implant surgery remains one of the greatest treatments to drastically enhance and improve the shape, size and overall look of the breasts. Women who lack confidence with naturally small breasts, or that have lost volume or shape of their breasts thorough pregnancy or breastfeeding find that breast implants help in boosting their confidence, as well as achieving perkier, fuller busts.

How Are Breast Implants Removed?

Breast Implant Removal and Replacement

Women who have worn implants for a number of years may feel they want to remove or replace them, for a number of reasons. For instance, you may be unhappy with the look of your breasts from a previous breast augmentation procedure or you may be unsatisfied with the quality and size of your implants and wish to upgrade them. You may also decide to remove your implants completely, for personal or medical issues, or advised to replace your breast implants by your Cosmetic Surgeon. In most cases, your best bet would probably be to undergo breast implant removal procedure.

  • To completely remove the implant, the surgeon makes a small incision along the crease of your breast, and simply removes the implant from the area. The surgeon will either stitch the area back up or proceed to replace the implant.
  •  With our implant replacement procedures, only the highest grade quality of silicone implants should be used, from manufacturers such as Nagor, Mentor and Motiva. Prior to your procedure, your surgeon would have shown you a vast range of implants in different shapes, sizes and textures and pointed out the most suitable for your desired results.
  • Breast implant removal takes around an hour to complete, with the implant replacement procedure taking slightly longer. During the procedure, you will be under general anaesthetic but many patients do not need to stay overnight and the majority of patients go home on the same day. The stitches used are dissolvable, and drainage after treatment is not usually required. Patients are usually advised against consuming alcohol or smoking, two weeks before and after surgery, as this will greatly reduce the chances of infection. Generally, your Plastic Surgeon will advise the best time for you to commence exercise and other daily activity, as well as a series of follow-ups.

We have over 35 years of experience in the cosmetic industry. We only work with fully qualified and highly experienced medical practitioners for our plastic surgery procedures. The Private Clinic present some of the industry’s most respected and experienced surgeons for breast implant removal and replacement. Our surgeons have perfected their techniques, and use only the highest quality FDA and CE Mark approved implants, in order to ensure uncompromising safety standards and ensure you the most effective results.

Brow it like Cara: Eyebrow transplants

February 14, 2014 by dina.elbarbary Leave a Comment

Cara Delevigne’s super brows have been shaping beauty and fashion trends since the young supermodel rose to fame in 2011, with many women favouring youthful looking, thick eyebrows over thinner, ageing eyebrows. Over-plucking, hereditary hair loss and ageing all contribute to weak, damaged hair follicles that are unable to produce hair. Our patient, Pernille, plucked her eyebrows for years and desperately sought a permanent solution for her sparse eyebrows.

Pernille-Brookman-main-3134523

FUE Eyebrow Hair Transplants

Quick-fix solutions for thicker, defined eyebrows are generally achieved by pencilling in the area with eyebrow pencils, gels, eye shadow or eyebrow tinting. An FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) Eyebrow Transplant is a brilliant alternative for people that want realistic, permanent brows:

  • The first step of the procedure is to select donor hair; the surgeon will take hair from behind the ears. During the extraction process, under local anaesthetic, the suitable hairs are carefully selected and stored.
  • The desired brow shape is designed, and incisions are made on the brow area (under local anaesthetic). The incisions made will dictate the density, angle and direction of hair growth.
  • The donor hair is inserted into the recipient sites on the brow area, one follicle at a time.
  • There is no downtime after treatment, and results can be seen immediately (full results can be seen up to 12 months later).

The Private Clinic

Our Hair Transplant and Hair Loss Specialists have many years of combined experience in treating hair loss and offer permanent hair restoration solutions via FUE hair transplants  Dr Luca De Fazio, Dr Raghu Reddy, Mr Michail Mouzakis, Mr Doraisami Mohan and Dr Mark Tam are amongst the most skilled and sought after FUE hair transplant surgeons in Europe, having carried out over 2,000 procedures to date and have spent years perfecting their advanced methods of FUE hair transplantation to ensure better results and minimal downtime.
