The Private Clinic Achieves 1000 Trustpilot Reviews

October 20, 2020 by Lee Dales Leave a Comment

Over 1000 of our valued patients have now given us their formal seal of approval using Trustpilot’s market-leading platform.

In September, The Private Clinic received its 1000th customer rating on Trustpilot’s highly respected review database. As a leader in the field of customer reviews, Trustpilot gives consumers the power to transparently critique the business services they receive on a global platform, which now receives over 1 million active reviews each month.

Positive Reviews, Globally Trusted

Since the company’s inception in 2007,  Trustpilot has grown to become the most trusted review platform in the world, allowing users to see and submit real reviews in real time without any censorship or brand interference. This transparency along with its widespread use has made it the modern-day hallmark of trust for consumers.

Hitting our 1000th review on this world-renowned platform, combined with our 4.5-star Trustpilot rating, shows how engaged our customers have been with positively assessing our services.

A Landmark Figure

Valentina Petrone, The Private Clinic’s Managing Director explains why attaining our 1000th customer rating on the respected Trustpilot platform means so much for our brand and our much-cherished customers:

“At The Private Clinic, we aim to offer the most advanced cosmetic treatments for our patients, with results that stand out for their superior quality. To achieve this, we put safety, expertise and patient satisfaction at the core of what we do – always!”

“Our continued success in this mission has stood out consistently in the vast number of reviews that we’ve received on the Trustpilot platform. Receiving over 1000  reviews shows how consistently engaged our customers are with our service delivery, and just how likely they are to tell the world about it.”

“As a leading medical brand, we are eternally grateful for this constant stream of verified customer feedback, it remains one of our measurement tools to nurture and improve the quality of our services in line with our overall brand mission and values.”

A Solid Reputation

Lorcan Sheppard, The Private Clinic’s Chief Medical Officer explains why he believes so many of our patients have reviewed our services while giving us an overwhelmingly positive Trustpilot score:

“I strongly believe that this ever-increasing number of positive patient reviews is down to our continued commitment to providing outstanding medical care with excellent customer service.”

What our Trustpilot reviewers have said

At The Private Clinic, we see over 15,000 new patients every year and perform over 10,000 procedures, while 96% of our patients would recommend us to their friends and family. This high approval rating is reflected in our many positive Trustpilot-verified reviews, some of which are detailed below:

World-class service

“I recently had an Otoplasty surgery done and all I can say is WOW! From the minute I had my consultation to the very end of my Post-Op appointment, Mr Mark Lloyd was a phenomenal doctor. If anyone would like to do an Otoplasty ear surgery, then I’d definitely recommend Mr Lloyd!”

Eleni, Otoplasty patient at The Private Clinic Harley Street

A very good decision

“I had two procedures for varicose veins at the Manchester clinic. Everyone on the team was professional, efficient, caring & approachable. All aspects of the treatment were fully explained at every stage. I was very well cared for during & after each procedure. After more than a decade of keeping my legs covered, it’s wonderful to be able to wear summer dresses & shorts again.” Deborah, Varicose Vein patient at The Private Clinic’s Manchester location

Couldn’t have asked for better results!

“I had breast implants and a lift done at The Private Clinic and I couldn’t be happier! I 100% recommend Dr Fazel. I couldn’t have asked for better results! All the staff at The Private Clinic Birmingham and London were extremely friendly and helpful!”

Lauren, Breast Augmentation patient at The Private Clinic Birmingham & Harley Street

What to expect at your skin clinic consultation following Covid-19?

July 17, 2020 by Rebecca Giffen Leave a Comment

The government lock down meant that our clinics unfortunately had to temporarily close for a few months. The time has come for us to look at opening the doors of our clinics again. To ensure the safety of our patients and staff, we have had to make a few changes so you will feel comfortable.

You might be looking for a skin treatment such as dermal fillers, skin peels, laser treatment for acne or treatments for anti-ageing such as laser for brown spots, laser skin tightening or rejuvenation. Whatever your condition, you can rest assured that we have a bespoke solution for you.

New Skin Clinic Patients

All new skin clinic patients will be encouraged to have an initial consultation over the phone with one of our experienced patient coordinators. Our patient coordinators are very knowledgeable in the treatments that we offer and will be able to find out which treatment may be best suited for you based on the skin concerns that you have.

This initial consultation is also a great chance for us to send you any products that you may be required to use ahead of your potential treatment, so your skin is well prepared.

If you know which treatment you want, then this is a great way to find out more and ensure that you are well informed ahead of your visit to the clinic.

Existing Skin Clinic Patients

If you are an existing patient, you will be given the option of an over the phone consultation if you are perhaps considering a new treatment. If you are returning to complete a course of treatments or having a repeat of a treatment that you have had previously then you will be given a time to visit clinic with your selected practitioner, doctor or nurse.

Visiting our Skins Clinics

You will be required to come to clinic ahead of your first treatment if you require a patch test. We are only able to offer patch tests in person and you will not be able to book any of our laser treatments if you have not previously had a patch test with us before.

If you decide to go ahead with treatment, this will take place in clinic. We have introduced some new protocols to ensure the safety of our patients and staff which include.

  • Not arriving more than 5 minutes before your appointment time.
  • Patients should come alone, and any accompanying person should wait outside.
  • Your temperature will be taken upon entry to the clinic.
  • Hand sanitiser will be in use at entry and throughout the clinic
  • Face masks should be worn where appropriate.
  • Access to our reception area may be limited.
  • Social distancing should be followed where possible.
  • Payments should be made by card.

Skin Clinic Aftercare

We will still be offering all patients a follow-up appointment to review the results of your treatment however this will initially only be carried out either by phone call or video consultation. Should you need to visit the clinic again for further treatment, this will be arranged following this appointment.

What treatments will be available following the Covid-19 outbreak?

How to prepare for your cosmetic surgery video consultation?

May 18, 2020 by Rebecca Giffen Leave a Comment

Covid-19 has resulted in many cosmetic surgery clinic closures and we have had to quickly adapt to new ways of working to keep things running as smoothly as possible during lockdown.

We will be offering patients online video consultations with a select number of our surgeons to help you start your cosmetic surgery journey whilst staying safe at home.

A virtual consultation can feel imitating for patients, some may have only had experience speaking to those that they know such as family, friends, or colleagues over online video chat – and some may have had no experience at all.

We have put together a guide on how best to prepare for your cosmetic surgery video consultation to help you feel more comfortable.

  • Have a good and reliable internet connection.
  • Ideally you should use a laptop or desktop computer.
  • Make sure you are connected to a power supply or have sufficient battery.
  • Test that your camera and microphone are working ahead of the consultation.
  • Choose a private area where you are not going to be disturbed.
  • Make sure that the lighting is good, ideally coming from in front of you rather than behind.
  • Turn off any background noise such as a TV or radio.
  • Try and position yourself so you can be seen from the torso up.
  • Be prepared to show the area you would like treated (i.e for varicose veins wear shorts).
  • You may be asked to provide photos of the areas you would like treated ahead of the consultation, ensure that you have sent this over before the consultation is due to take place.
  • Have a list of questions ready to ask.
  • Have a pen and paper handy to take down any notes and important information.
  • Have your medical history ready to discuss.
  • Ensure that a chaperone is going to present provided by the clinic.
  • Feel free to have a family member or friend to sit in on the consultation for support.
  • Make sure that you have your login details ready before the consultation and contact the clinic if you are unsure of anything.

Logging In

You will be provided with your online video consultation login details and information before your consultation is due to take place. We have a virtual reception that you will be able to access at any time that has useful links to information about the procedure you are interested in, before and after photos, videos and FAQs.

Within the virtual reception is a check in button, this is where you will need to login ideally at least 5 minutes before your consultation is due to begin. Once you are logged in, you will be taken to a secure area to wait for your surgeon to join you.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) gives The Private Clinic good & outstanding in their latest visit

May 12, 2020 by Rebecca Giffen Leave a Comment

We are delighted to have passed with a Good rating and Outstanding commendations in our latest CQC inspections for Manchester, Birmingham and The London Fitzroy Hospital. The Private Clinic always strives to provide patients with a quality service. Please find a full explanation below of the great work the CQC does to ensure that patients receive the best standard of care.

What is CQC?

CQC stands for Care Quality Commission and they are an independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. It is the CQC’s job to ensure that health and social care establishments are providing people with safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care.

Why is the CQC important?

When you are accredited by the CQC it means that as a care provider you are meeting all of the standards that have been set out by the CQC which are also approved by the government and NHS. When it comes to choosing a clinic, you will be able to differentiate between average to excellent health providers.

What are the CQC standards?

The key areas that the CQC looks out for are categorised into 13 categories that form CQC’s Fundamental Standards.

  1. Person-centred care

The care and treatment must be appropriate and reflect service users’ needs and preferences.

  1. Dignity and Respect

The patients must be treated with dignity and respect.

  1. Consent

The care and treatment must only be provided with consent.

  1. Safety

The care and treatment offered by the clinic must be provided in a safe way.

  1. Safeguarding from abuse

All patients must be protected from abuse and improper treatment.

  1. Food and drink

The patients’ nutritional and hydration needs must be met.

  1. Premises and equipment

All premises and equipment used must be clean, secure, suitable and used properly.

  1. Complaints

All complaints must be appropriately investigated, and appropriate action taken in response.

  1. Good governance

Clinic systems and processes must be established to ensure compliance with the fundamental standards.

  1. Staffing

There must be sufficient numbers of suitably qualified, competent, skilled and experienced staff deployed.

  1. Fit and proper staff

All persons employed must be of good character, have the necessary qualifications, skills and experience, and be able to perform the work for which they are employed.

  1. Duty of candour

All registered persons must be open and transparent with service users about their care and treatment.

  1. Display of ratings

The provider must display CQC ratings in a public place. They must also include this information on their website and make their CQC reports available to the patient.

What are the CQC ratings?

There are 4 levels of CQC ratings:

  • Outstanding – The service is performing exceptionally well.
  • Good – The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
  • Requires improvement – The service is not performing as well as it should, and CQC have told the service how it must improve.
  • Inadequate – The service is performing badly, and action has been taken against the person or organisation that runs it.

A CQC inspection will grade the clinic on 5 key inspection areas; Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led and an overall score will then be awarded.

Why does a clinic need a CQC registration?

All health and social care providers must be registered with the Care Quality Commission otherwise they will be committing an offence. The CQC also offers advice to all of its registered clinics to help you ensure that you are following the correct protocol and a professional service.

CQC The Private Clinic

The Private Clinic is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and since opening our doors in 1983, our clinics nationwide have passed numerous unannounced and announced CQC inspections. All surgeons that work for us in our CQC registered clinics are also registered with the General Medical Council which is a public body that maintains an official register of all medical practitioners within the United Kingdom.

The Private Clinic stands for Quality

November 30, 2019 by Rebecca Giffen Leave a Comment

As an independent healthcare provider, The Private Clinic prides itself on being registered with all the appropriate regulatory bodies. We abide ourselves to demonstrating our compliance with the exacting standards and set outcomes.

We are an advocate for the clinical governance criteria which is set out by the Care Quality Commission (CQQ) and the Healthcare Improvement Scotland, under responsibility of the Nominated Individual (NI). We believe this is reflected in the service that we provide to all our patients and illustrated our exemplary regulatory record.

We opened the doors to our first clinic in 1983 and since then our clinics across the UK have passed many announced and unannounced CQC inspections and we have received commendations for the quality of our high standards.

Our new London Fitzroy Hospital recently achieved a great result after being reviewed by The Care Quality Commission. It has been reviewed as a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led hospital from The Care Quality Commission.

Working in line with the regulatory compliance, we ensure that all of our surgeons and doctors are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC). We also seek out those who are specialist in their field and have certifications to reflect this ensuring that they have extensive experience in their specialist area such as Cosmetic Surgery, Liposuction, Hair Transplants, Orthopaedic surgery or Varicose Vein removal. Our Medical Advisory Committee is headed by our Chief Medical Officer Dr L Sheppard, former NHS consultant, who oversees the admitting rights of surgeons, dermatologist and doctors.

Many of our surgeons and doctors are experts in their fields and have written and contributed to many research articles in their respective fields

We employ a team or nurses who are all registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and are fully trained in cosmetic pre and post op care. We offer all our medical staff continuous training to ensure they meet the expectation of patients and regulatory bodies.

Choosing a cosmetic surgery clinic can be a struggle but you can rest assured that The Private Clinic stands for quality and in order to achieve that, we make sure we put safety, expertise and patient satisfaction at the core of what we do. Our commitment to patient care is why we are the proud winners of ‘Best Cosmetic Surgery Practice’ at the 2017 MyFaceMyBody awards and have a Trust Pilot 5 star rating.

How to achieve great looking legs

September 20, 2017 by Rebecca Giffen Leave a Comment

As the leaves on the trees are starting to turn that familiar shade of orange the majority of us may be mourning the loss of the long afternoons and warmer weather. For some of us however, the autumnal chill is a long-awaited feeling as we dig out the woolly tights and jeans in sheer relief.

For some however, that relief is not just over the excitement of a change of wardrobe, but instead goes a little deeper and is more connected to a feeling of self-consciousness over the appearance of their legs.

There are many reasons why you would want to cover up your legs from prominent veins to unwanted fat deposits but here at The Private Clinic we have a number of treatments to help you get great looking legs that you will be eager to show off come next summer!

Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are large prominent veins which take on a bulging or blue/purple appearance that many find displeasing. They are most common on the legs and feet and can cause symptoms such as swollen feet or ankles, aching legs, dry skin and muscle cramps.

Unfortunately for many people varicose veins are not serious enough for treatment on the NHS and you may just be recommended to wear compression stockings, exercise and elevate your legs when resting but these are often not enough to reduce the appearance of them.

When it comes to treating varicose veins we have a variety of treatments but our most popular is EVLA (Endovenous Laser Ablation) which is a minimally-invasive method of destroying dysfunctional varicose veins. The treatment is performed under local anaesthetic and has a quicker recovery time and higher success rates compared to traditional vein stripping.

We also offer VenaSeal, foam sclerotherapy and phlebectomy for veins that are not suitable for EVLA. In some cases it may be suggested that a combination of procedures are performed in order to give you the best possible result.

“Six months and three treatments later, my veins of leg are transformed. I am taking my new legs to Ibiza, where they can embrace miniskirts on a daily basis.” *

Jessica Lacey, Beauty Features Editor, Marie Claire
-Sclerotherapy with Mr. Constantinos Kyriakides.

Thread Vein Removal

Thread veins are little blood vessels that run close to the surface of the skin resulting in the prominent appearance. They are often red or blue in appearance and are also called spider veins, broken veins or telangiectasia.

Thread veins are not usually dangerous but they may grow in size and new ones appear over time. Some people with thread veins actually have deeper varicose veins. If you are getting any of the symptoms of varicose veins these will need to be treated before thread veins can be treated.

There are again, several treatments for thread vein removal and your practitioner will be able to advise on the best treatment for you. Laser treatments such as the Cutera CoolGlide is a popular choice for smaller thread veins and it involves directing an intense light at the veins which causes the blood to coagulate and redirect to alternative veins below the surface of the skin.  We also offer Sclerotherapy which is when the veins are injected with a solution causing them to collapse and fade.

It is common to require a course of treatment to ensure you achieve the best result but once they have been removed they are gone. Treatment will not stop any new veins from appearing however so things like hormonal changes, pregnancy and weight gain could potentially cause new ones to appear over time.

“I was stoked with the results. I’ll be flashing my pins this summer!” *

Vaser Liposuction

There may be many reasons why someone would want Vaser liposuction but we are going to focus on some popular reasons for wanting vaser liposuction in the leg and thigh areas.

Excess fat around the knees may cause you to avoid wearing shorts or skirts. Fat around your knees can be stubborn and in many cases a good diet and regular exercise can result in a leaner appearance but for some this is simply not the case. The fat around your knees is usually subcutaneous fat and it is often harder to lose as your body essentially holds on to it in case of emergency.

Vaser Liposuction is a minimally invasive treatment aimed at contouring and shaping the body and unlike traditional liposuction it can be performed under local anaesthetic and sedation (if requested). A small probe transmits the ultrasound energy which liquefies the fat cells before they are removed through a gentle suction process.

Laser Hair Removal

A recent study has revealed that more than 49 per cent of us hate the idea of hair removal and while that may not be shocking, the fact that an average women would spend on average £23,000 to wax away unwanted hair over the course of her lifetime might be!

Laser hair removal is when unwanted hair is removed by exposing them to pulses of laser light that destroy the hair follicle. Our Laser hair removal treatments are suitable for both men and women of all skin types, including dark skin.

It’s not only your legs but your face, underarms, arms, bikini line, backs, shoulders, chest and abdomen can all be treated too. Usually you will need a course of treatment to achieve the best result but many people will see 80%-90% less hair growth after their course of treatment.

“I am saying to myself ‘why did I wait so long.’ No more carrying my wax around when I travel. No more unsightly hair to be conscious about. Bliss!”
