The FUE Procedure
On the day of your procedure, you’ll experience our advanced FUE technique in one of our state-of-the-art Hair Transplant theatres. We prioritise your comfort, ensuring a calm and relaxing environment with access to Wi-Fi, streaming platforms like Netflix, or music and podcasts for a distraction-free experience.
The procedure typically takes 6–8 hours under local anaesthesia, with our surgeons performing only one transplant a day to give you their full attention, ensuring that every graft is placed with precision. A team of highly experienced hair technicians—some with over 10 years of experience—will assist in keeping you comfortable throughout the treatment.
What to expect during your procedure
- Pre-Surgery Preparation: Your head will be shaved and cleaned before the procedure, typically taking about 30 minutes.
- Graft Extraction: You’ll be positioned face down, and local anaesthetic will be administered to numb the donor area. Using a specialised 0.6mm – 0.9mm punch device, individual follicular units will be extracted from the donor area (typically the back of the head).
- Graft Classification: The extracted hair follicles will be sorted by size—referring to the number of hairs in each follicular unit (single, double, or triple grafts)—and then prepared for implantation. This process ensures the most natural-looking distribution of hair across the treatment area.
- Break: After extraction, there will be a break where you can stretch and enjoy a complimentary lunch.
- Graft Implantation: Anaesthetic is applied to the recipient area, and our Micro FUE technique is used to implant the grafts with precise angulation, depth, and density, creating the most natural-looking hairline.
Once the procedure is complete, you’ll see the immediate results of where new hair has been implanted, and bandages will be applied to the treated areas.

Hair Transplant prices are calculated by the number of hairs required to give you the results you desire. We charge £2.50 per hair and most commonly, an average of 3000-4000 hair follicles are required meaning the average cost is likely to range between £7,500 and £10,000. A partially or unshaven FUE Hair Transplant procedure will also incur additional costs which will be discussed during a consultation.

The Hair Loss Problem: Main Causes
A thinning scalp is often caused by something called Androgenetic Alopecia – more commonly referred to as Male Pattern Baldness. 95% of men experience this hereditary condition which occurs when a male hormone causes certain hair follicles to shrink and produce abnormal hair with a shorter life.
We price by the number of hairs you require for your FUE Hair Transplant procedure. It is approximately £2.50 per hair for standard FUE (follicular unit extraction) procedures.
A 1,600 FUE hair follicle hair transplant would start from £3750. This is based on a fully shaven procedure.
Our expert hair transplant surgeons are able to offer specialised hair transplant techniques that ensure your recovery is minimal. This includes partially shaven hair transplants, unshaven hair transplants and Micro FUE with Implanters. These may incur additional costs which will be discussed during your consultation.

No hair transplant surgeon should state that a hair transplant procedure has a 100% guarantee – and this stands for all aesthetic surgical procedures not just hair transplants. It is an unreasonable statement to make as every procedure has its own risks and complications which although rare, can still happen. So if a company says anything about having a 98%-100% guarantee you should be wary.

A widow’s peak is a v-shaped hairline that is present from childhood. It is genetic and runs in families like having curly hair would. It is not a form of hair loss; widow’s peak hairlines can be very noticeable in some people or more subtle.
Male pattern hair loss or female hair loss to the hairline and front of the scalp can often look like a widow’s peak hairline but they are not related.

Mr Michael Mouzakis is a Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeon with over 15 years of experience and a special interest in Hair Restoration. He has extensive experience in a range of Advanced FUE procedures, including Scalp, Eyebrow and Beard hair transplants.
He is one of the few hair transplant surgeons in the UK to use implanter pens as part of his specialist Micro FUE technique. Using the implanter pen, means Mr Mouzakis can control the depth and angle of the implant, leading to more natural results. He performs all hair transplant procedures himself, using state-of-the-art technology, extracting each hair follicle as a whole unit and then implanting them using a powerful stereo microscope. He can typically transplant 4,000 hair follicles in a 5 to 6 hour session.
