If you’re looking for a facial for a real impact then it might be time to try an enzyme peel. Be warned: this is not your usual cleanse, exfoliate, face mask drill to twinkly music; it’s a three-step process over a couple of hours. But if you want results, I have to say – this works.

I wanted to try something new and results-driven, and a friend recommended a peel. In the run up to the GLAMOUR Awards, the team are frantically trying on dresses, testing out hairstyles and giving beauty treatments a go, so I thought this was a great way to get my skin red carpet-ready.

The Private Clinic practice in Cheapside offered me a Red Carpet Facial and in just a few hours my skin felt super clean, toned, soft and yes – rejuvenated.

So there are three steps:

  1. A ‘Circadia Enzyme Peel’ which dissolves the skin’s dead cells and starts building up the proteins.
  2. A light ‘Lactic Acid Peel’ which “promotes the effective removal of the uppermost layers of dead skin cells whilst protecting the skin’s lipid barrier giving the skin a much healthier appearance”.
  3. Finally, the ‘Oxygen RX Treatment’ increases the flow of blood to the skin cells and stimulates collagen synthesis.

I found the experience really worked for me. There is a little tingling sensation but that’s to be expected in any facial of this nature. My skin feels fantastic and I’ll be back for more.

The clinic also offers a host of other treatments including botox, peels and lipsosuction administered by the experienced in-house team.

The Red Carpet Facial costs £185 and is available from The Private Clinic of Harley Street theprivateclinic.co.uk *
