About Mr Jonothan Clibbon

Mr Jonothan Clibbon MBChB FRCS(Plast) is a Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon , GMC registered , revalidated and on the GMC’s Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.

Mr Clibbon was trained at Leeds Medical school, where he first developed his fascination for reconstructive surgery, working with some of the pioneers of the time. Following his pre-registration year, he secured an Anatomy Demonstrator position , teaching medical and dental students anatomy, and passing his FRCS exam at the same time. He then spent a year in Australia, working in Emergency and Trauma medicine, gaining much experience of orthopaedics and trauma surgery. On his return , after working at the busy Leeds (Jimmy’s) Emergency department, he went on to surgical training in the East of England working at Addenbrooke’s hospital , the Norfolk and Norwich hospital and many other hospitals in the region. After the completion of his specialist training, Mr Clibbon went to study advanced reconstructive microsurgery at the world renown Chang Gung Memorial hospital in Taipei, working for Professor Fu Chan Wei.

Mr Clibbon was appointed as a NHS Consultant in 2006 at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and specialises in Head and Neck cancer Reconstruction, Skin cancer, Peadiatric plastic surgery including Hypospadias and medical Laser treatments. He is a GMC certified trainer, AES, and since 2018 has been the lead trainer for the TIG Head and Neck Cancer Fellowship.

Mr Clibbon is married with four children. He enjoys sports, especially football, still playing 7-a-side regularly and proudly supporting Ipswich Town Football Club.
