As cosmetic surgeons reveal requests for ‘below the bum’ lipo have tripled in the last year, LOOK investigates whether it’s ever worth the risks. 

Up until last week, we thought ‘banana roll’ was a dessert. But it’s actually the cosmetic term for the small pocket of fat under your bum cheeks. And although it may be an area you’ve never thought about, more and more UK women are resorting to plastic surgery to have it removed.

Spa manager Kyla, 28, reckons the procedures are worth the risks. She had VASER Lipo at The Private Clinic in London earlier this year, and hasn’t looked back.

‘Despite exercising, my ‘banana rolls’ have always been an issue,’ she says. ‘The op itself wasn’t painful,’ she adds. ‘But the following three days were hard. My friend had to stay with me to help me in and out of the compression bodysuit I had to wear for a month afterwards.’

But Kyla has no regrets. ‘I feel so much more confident,’ she says.
