Thread Veins – Jo Good

Home » Patient Stories » Thread Veins – Jo Good

Jo Good is an actress and broadcaster who regularly documents her life on her YouTube channel.

More recently, Jo has been feeling concerned about her leg veins, she mentioned that after going to a yoga retreat, she found herself reluctant to wear shorts and was often trying to hide away her legs unhappy with the appearance of her thread veins.

Jo admits that her legs are one of her best features so to feel like she should hide them away, was unusual for her. She had previously looked into leg vein treatments but the idea of having them stripped or having to wear stockings for long periods previously put her off.

Local to the area, Jo decided to visit our Harley Street vein clinic to see what treatment options would be available to her.

Arriving at our clinic, Jo met with Consultant Vascular Surgeon, Mr Dynesh Rittoo. Jo explained how she was unhappy with her thread veins’ appearance and concerned about a possible varicose vein developing.

Mr Rittoo performed an ultrasound duplex scan to assess the condition of the veins in Jo’s legs. The scan uses ultrasound technology, similar to that of a pregnancy scan but this one looks deep inside your veins. The scan will allow the surgeon to map the anatomy of the veins, assess the blood flow and detect the presence of any abnormal valves.

Jo was informed that there were no abnormalities in her leg veins so the aim of any treatment will be to remove the visible veins from the leg. A mixture of sclerotherapy and micro sclerotherapy will be used on the leg to remove visible blue veins.

We look forward to seeing more from Jo soon when she returns for her leg vein treatment.
