You will be provided with a surgical bra following your breast lift and augmentation procedure. This bra will need to be worn for at least 6 weeks following your procedure. A surgical bra should have no wires as this can irritate the incisions. Your surgeon will be able to advise on where to purchase a second surgical bra to be worn whilst the other is being washed etc.
Breast Enlargement & Uplift After Procedure
Your surgeon will take great care during the procedure however sometimes the milk ducts can be cut or damaged during an uplift procedure which can make breast feeding a challenge post-surgery. If you are feeling concerned, then speak to your surgeon who will be able to discuss the process in more detail.
There is a couple of different incision techniques for a breast lift and enlargement procedure. Most procedures are performed with a lollipop or anchor incision.
- A lollipop incision goes around the areola and down the breast.
- An anchor incision goes around the areola, down the breast and along the breast crease.
Your scars will appear red for at least the first 6 weeks following your procedure. After 6 weeks, your surgeon will be able to advise on scar care and over the next year they will gradually begin to fade.
