Swelling is a common side effect of liposuction surgery unfortunately, but our aftercare plans have been put in the place to try and reduce the amount of swelling that occurs post-surgery. You may have a drain in place for a few days after surgery and be required to wear a compression garment at all times except when washing. These will both help to reduce swelling. Swelling can take a number of weeks to fully subside but the majority of it will be gone within 3 weeks.
Vaser liposuction is a lot less invasive than surgical liposuction meaning swelling post procedure is reduced. Patients are still required to wear compression garments but many are able to get back to their daily routine quite quickly post-procedure.
