Stretch marks are the bane of many women’s lives and some men.
They initially appear in shades of red or purple and over time become white and silvery. Stretch marks can appear through adolescent growth, weight gain or loss and through pregnancy. For whatever reason or shade they are they can have a detrimental affect on your confidence. Luckily now there is an innovative treatment that substantially improves the appearance of stretch marks called Carboxy Therapy.
Carboxy therapy is an all natural medical procedure, which introduces micro injections of carbon dioxide just beneath the surface of the skin improving skin texture, contour and firmness
How does it work?
It is a non surgical method. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is infiltrated into the subcutaneous tissue through a tiny 30G needle (0.3mm in diameter). From the injection point, the carbon dioxide diffuses easily into adjacent tissues.
This is accomplished by injecting CO2 into the tissues causing stimulation to local tissue increasing metabolism and oxygen perfusion and the production of collagen. Treatments are rapid, comfortable, effective, and most importantly, no significant side effects have been reported as of now.
Carboxytherapy Therapy works in two complimentary ways. Firstly, and quite simply carbon dioxide mechanically kills fat cells. Secondly, it also has a strong vasodilation effect (causes dilation of blood vessels) on the capillaries in the area. Wider vessels mean bigger and stronger blood flow to the area, which means more oxygen, important for eliminating built up fluid from between the cells. The end result is fewer fat cells and firmer subcutaneous tissue.
It is not toxic as carbon dioxide is naturally produced by the cells in our bodies every day of our life. It is a by product of metabolism.
Which areas can be treated?
Carboxytherapy can be used on almost every part of the body including the arms, stomach, buttocks, legs and back.
Is it painful?
Some patients can experience a light tingling sensation near the injection site. It disappears within a matter of seconds. The injection site may feel warmer for 10 to 20 minutes
How many sessions will I need?
Between 5 and 20 sessions are necessary. Ideally they should be carried out every other day, although sometimes two or even one session per week will be enough. Each session lasts between 10 to 15 minutes.
When will I see results?
After the 5th session you will see that your skin looks noticeably healthier. Around the 8-10 session mark, you will appreciate that the skin and tissue is firmer.
How much does it cost?
Prices start at £150 per session.
