The safe, simple way to banish cellulite
Cellulite is a problem that affects millions of women of all ages – those dimpled, fatty deposits that are usually found in the thighs and buttocks and that even the strictest diet or exercise regime can’t seem to shift. Cellulite can restrict your clothing choices and make you feel self-conscious, particularly in the summer.
However that smooth, firm skin you’ve been dreaming about could be easier to achieve than you think. The Private Clinic offers Velashape™, the only FDA approved solution for cellulite.
It has already helped thousands of women to feel good about their bodies again – you might have seen their stories in leading magazines including Grazia, Hello and Harpers.

What is cellulite?
The term cellulite refers to the dimpled appearance of the skin that some people have on their hips, thighs and buttocks. It is much more common in women than in men because of differences in the way fat, muscle, and connective tissue are distributed in men and women’s skin.
Heredity, skin thickness, gender, the amount and distribution of body fat and age can all influence the extent to which cellulite is present or visible. Cellulite occurs in people of all races living all around the globe, whether or not they are overweight. Even slim people get cellulite.
How does the treatment work?
Velashape™ is the first and only technology that combines powerful energies to reduce the volume of fat tissues and the appearance of dimpling where cellulite occurs. Our treatment uses a mixture of radio frequency, infra-red, vacuum and a mechanical massage to boost circulation and lymphatic drainage. The system safely delivers heat into fatty tissue to target loose or dimpled skin and firm problem areas.
We are able to treat most areas of the body including abdomen, buttocks and thighs.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most patients find the treatment to be comfortable – similar to a warm deep tissue massage. The treatment is designed to accommodate your sensitivity and comfort level. It is normal to experience a warm sensation for a few hours post-treatment. Your skin may also appear red for a few hours.
Is it safe?
The Velashape™ treatment is safe and effective for all skin types and colours. There are no reported short- or long-term health effects.
How long does the treatment take?
Each session takes from 45 minutes. At The Private Clinic a session can take up to one hour and thirty minutes because we focus on more areas within the same session to ensure visible results.
How many treatments will I need?
A standard course of treatment takes six weeks and it includes six sessions, one per week.
When will I see the results?
Gradual improvement of the treated area can be seen following the third treatment, with the skin feeling smoother, firmer and tighter. Results in circumference reduction will be most apparent after six treatments.
In clinical studies, dependent on area, patients report an average reduction of over 2cm post treatment. The average range of circumferential reduction was 2-7cm.
How long will the effects last?
To maintain the results, a top-up session is recommended approximately every 6 months.
Is there any downtime?
No, you can return to normal activities straight after your treatment.
How much does the treatment cost?
Velashape treatments cost around £280 per session.
Who performs the treatment?
Our treatments are carried out by our highly-trained nurses and laser practitioners who all have extensive experience in this field.
