What is Macrolane™?

Macrolane™ consists of a gel made of Hyaluronic Acid – a pure, long-lasting and manmade version of a natural substance that your body normally produces. Made by leading pharmaceutical company Q-Med, it has been used for many years in aesthetic treatments.

How does the treatment work?

The 20-minute treatment involves an injection that increases the girth of the penis. A local anaesthetic will be injected immediately prior to treatment to numb the area being treated.

What are the possible side effects?

There is the possibility of injection related reactions such as erythema, swelling, itching, tenderness at the injection site. Areas that have been injected may be tender for 7 – 10 days.
There may be minimal bruising which will normally resolve after 10-14 days.
Any swelling will normally resolve after 5-10 days. However, for a complete result and optimum appearance, allow 2 weeks. The treated area may feel hard with the possibility of lumpiness for a few weeks.

Is it safe?

There have not been any reports of life-threatening reaction to NASHA reported following 10 million treatments.
Clinical studies show that transient local reactions such as swelling, redness, tenderness occur following treatment with Macrolane. These are a well-known side-effect and is short lasting. Some patients might experience lumpiness.

Does the treatment hurt?

The doctor will numb the area with a local anaesthetic before the procedure.
Individual patients have varying pain thresholds; however patients previously treated with Macrolane in this indication have reported none to mild pain post treatment.
You will be supplied with pain relief for the first 48-72hrs after your treatment.

When can I see the results?

Results are immediate although there is a bit of swelling which will settle.
After the treatment the area will feel quite hard, this is normal and will soften within 2-3 weeks. You may massage the area after 3 days.
Increase in girth is dependent on the amount injected and could be from 3-4cm’s.

How long does the effect last?

Results are expected to last for 9-12 months. However a top up treatment is normally required at 9-12 months to maintain the desired shape.

Is there any downtime?

Dressings must stay intact and dry for at least 3 days. One dissolvable stitch will be used and will take between 7-10 days to dissolve.
It is strongly advised that you do not take part in vigorous exercise for 2 weeks.
You should refrain from sexual intercourse for at least 4-6 weeks.
Antibiotics will be prescribed and the course should be completed.

How much does it cost?

Costs start from £1600 but may vary depending on the amount of treatment required and will be properly assessed during your consultation.

Who performs the treatment?

Dr. Dennis Wolf is an experienced and approved Macrolane VRF Physicians for breast reshaping and volume restoration, body contouring and male enhancement. He is highly experienced in the use of Macrolane for breasts, buttocks, calves and penis.
