What does it promise?
The treatment, it is claimed is “clinically proven to reduce acne and inflammation by up to 1/2 in 4 weeks following 4 weeks following one 15 minute session.”
N-Lite is a medical laser which emits a unique light called Smart Pulse which kills the bacteria that cause the spots. It does this by stimulating the natural repair mechanism in the skin. It also increases the production of collagen which helps smooth out wrinkles and reduces pitting or scarring.
The results should last up to 12 months but they can be permanent.
What’s Involved?
After a 30-minute consultation, you are given a pair of protective goggles then told to lie back on a relaxing bed while your face is mapped out by a specially-trained nurse.
The laser is emitted from a pen-like hand-piece that feels slightly hot against the skin and occasionally stings but is generally pretty painless. The entire treatment takes 15 minutes and there’s no visible reaction afterwards. You can have a treatment in your lunch hour, although it is possible for some minimal bruising to occur.
How much?
A 30-minute treatment including consultation cost from £200.
The Verdict?
Amazing. I had moderate acne and had treatment from microdermabrasion and chemical peels to antibiotics. Nothing had worked. Yet after two N-Lite sessions my acne had diminished by about 50 percent. And after a further three treatments, it had disappeared altogether.
Three months on, my spots have not returned and my face looks clear and smooth. It is by far the best treatment I have ever had, and completely fuss-free and painless with no annoying aftercare with creams and lotions. The only down side is the price - but considering the results, it is worth every penny.
