Good riddance to love handles. SARAH BOSNICH, 40, is a former model and TV presenter.
She is divorced from ex-footballer Mark Bosnich and lives in London.

I used to do a lot of modelling between the ages of 18 and 30. Since my teens I’ve regularly worked out doing stomach crunches, Pilates and running but despite my best efforts last year I could feel middle-age starting to affect my body.
My tummy and flanks – or rather love handles – had become decidedly wobbly.
In January I was chatting to a girlfriend and complaining about my body when she told me about a new procedure she’d read about.
Vaser High Definition Lipo is a high-tech type of liposuction in which the surgeon selectively removes fat close to the muscles – in my case the abdominals.
This has the effect of making the area look more defined, with a much better overall shape.
So I went to see cosmetic surgeon Dr Mike Comins at his clinic in west London.
He explained that the machine he uses removes liquidised fat cells from the body without also removing blood and tissue as traditional liposuction does. This meant the procedure was safer.
It sounded ideal for me so I booked in for the first appointment available.
There was no general anaesthetic involved, just a couple of injections to numb the area and some sedation so I wouldn’t be aware of what was going on.
I don’t think I was conscious at all because once I came round I had no recollection of anything having happened.
I was given a compression garment which was like a corset to stop the area swelling too much and told to keep it on for at least two weeks.
For the first two hours there was no pain but it started when I tried to walk.
While hobbling to the taxi home I started to feel sick and went straight to bed once indoors.
When I took off the compression garment to have a shower I could see my tummy and love handles were really bruised and everything was sore for three days.
After two weeks of having to wear baggy, comfy trousers everything was looking much better.
Two months later all the swelling had gone and bits that had previously been wobbly were now flat and firm.
I really do have virtually a six-pack stomach although there’s no actual inch-loss, I’m still a size 10 to 12. My middle-age spread has been sucked out and thrown away – and good riddance to it.
