What is Perlane?

Collagen injections are still a popular treatment choice but they have largely been superseded by Perlane, a newer injectable treatment which last up to twice as long as collagen.

Perlane is a dermal filler which is injected into the facial skin to correct wrinkles and depressions. Perlane is composed of hyaluronic acid in the form of a crystal clear gel. It is not animal-based and is free from animal proteins.

Perlane can be used for shaping facial contours, such as cheeks and chin and correcting deep folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).

The subtle effects can be seen immediately and last around six to nine months.

How is the treatment performed?

Perlane is injected directly into the skin by an ultrafine needle. Sufficient volume should be injected depending on the severity of nasolabial folds to obtain optimal correction as determined by your physician.

How long is a treatment?

The treatment is quick, approximately 30 minutes.

The inconvenience of a skin test can be avoided with Perlane because it is a non-animal product, unlike collagen. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reactions

Is the injection painful?

Perlane is injected with an ultrafine needle and the pain is similar to that of any needle injection.

A topical anaesthetic will be applied to the area being treated prior to the procedure.

When can I see same results?

The results are virtually instantaneous.

How long does Perlane last?

As with any dermal filler, longevity of Perlane will vary based on the patient, however average results last approximately 6 to 9 months.

A top up injection of Perlane is necessary once a year to maintain the effects. When top up treatments cease, Perlane biodegrades naturally and safely in the skin - the gel simply disappears.

Side effects

Perlane is a safe product. Since hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the body, the skin does not react to the material. With over 100.000 people treated today, only a very small number of reactions have been reported.

These reactions may consist of prolonged but temporary redness, swelling, itching or tenderness which typically do not last longer than a week.
Mineral make-up can be re-applied after the procedure.

What is the difference between Perlane and Restylane?

The difference between Restylane and Perlane is the size of the particle. Perlane is composed of larger gel particles than Restylane and is intended for deeper injection to add volume for structural support and lift.

The availability of both products provides us with different treatment options. Your consultant can best determine the most suitable treatment for your needs.

How much does it cost?

Perlane treatments start from £180. However, as treatments are customized to the specific needs of each client, costs will vary from patient to patient.

Ask your consultant to give a cost estimate based on your particular needs.

The consultation is free and our friendly and highly professional staff will help you identify the most suitable treatment for your.

Our aim is to give Harley Street Service at High Street prices. Also as Perlane provide long-lasting results of over six months, it may prove to be very economical over the long term

Who performs the treatment?

The treatment will be carried out by doctors and nurse practitioners who have several years of experience in this field.

Our medical staffs have the relevant training required to ensure that they give the very best of care and attention to our patients. They are also highly experienced to advice on what is the most appropriate course of treatment for each patient and are committed to working towards the desired result.  click here to read more about our team
