WIGAN EVENING POST
Beauty bug in family....
Mum and daughter compete
What keeps a Wigan beauty competition contestant looking
so young and fresh?
Without resorting to plastic surgery, Jayne Taylor, 37, who is an experienced beauty
contest entrant and former Miss Great Britain, says she sticks to more natural method.
In March, she had the first of three innovative treatments at a Harley Street clinic in
London.
|
Called Sculptra, the injectable treatment stimulates the body's own store of collagen and
gives the skin fullness and volume and reduces wrinkles, bags and lines.
Now, Jayne, of Mossdale Avenue, Ashton, is preparing to jet off to America to represent
the
UK in an international beauty pageant.
Jayne, who works in promotion as well as being a full-time mum to Gemma, 18, Zoe, 15,
Chelsea, 14 and Maddison, 3, will show off her new youthful look to an international
audience next month at the annual Mrs Globe beauty pageant, which is known as Miss
World for married women.
Jayne took the first of three Sculptra treatments at The Private Clinic.
After two more sessions, she noticed that her youthful looks were returning and with them
came a new-found confidence>
Jayne said: "I'll be going out to Palm Springs with more confidence and a more
youthful
appearance.
"I recently had a health scare and underwent treatment for cervical cancer, which has
made me all the more determined to enjoy the new lease of life."
Jayne and her eldest daughter Gemma both competed against each other in the Miss Great
Britain contest in May - the first mother and daughter entrants to do so.
Jayne said: "My three eldest daughters have all competed in pageants and won titles
and
my eldest, Gemma, actually competed against me in the Miss Great Britain pageant in May.
"We got a lot of attention and really enjoyed the whole experience." Their
memorable arrival
sparked interest nationwide and they were soon appearing on Richard and Judy and in
national newspapers.
Jayne has been competing in beauty contest for more than 20 years and says that, after
Gemma's success, her younger daughters have also caught the beauty bug.
She said: "They both held titles in competitions and may decide to compete more when
they are older.
"It's something I let them do for fun during the holidays. I think it gives
them pride and
confidence.
